The next episode turns its attention to Rue McClanahan, who stole hearts as Blanche Devereaux, the Southern belle of The Golden Girls. She won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on the show, and her glorious 50-year career was propelled by her sharp tongue and comedic timing. At age 76, McClanahan died after suffering a massive stroke. Thanks to this intriguing series, we’ll have a better understanding of what led up to this surprising and heartbreaking loss.
