At its core, I Am the Night is the story of a teenage girl wanting to find her roots, but everything becomes more complex when she starts discovering the haunting secrets of her past. When Patty Jenkins, director of Wonder Woman, pitched the project to Chris Pine, he said it sounded like “Chinatown wrapped in a noir mystery”—and that was a combination he couldn’t turn down. These characters enter into the seedy underbelly of Hollywood, and witness its darkest debauchery.
Inspired by a true story, this limited series follows Fauna Hodel on the search for her identity. Along the way, she stumbles into a web of Hollywood secrets. The further she gets into the investigation, the deeper and darker the labyrinth becomes. In her pursuit she meets a ruined reporter, played by Chris Pine. He is dealing with demons created by the case that undid him, The Black Dahlia murder. Can the two team up to take on the most powerful citizens in Los Angeles, including the infamous gynecologist, Dr. George Hodel, or will the ruling class collect two more secrets to bury?
Find out where the mysteries end and begin when I Am the Night premieres on January 28 at 9/8c on TNT (Ch. 245).
