From award-winning filmmakers Jeff and Michael Zimbalist comes the feature-length documentary, Give Us This Day. The film tracks a year in East St. Louis, the city with the highest homicide rate in the United States. It follows both police officers and residents, showing the challenges facing a community plagued by gun violence.

Give Us This Day shows problems on both sides. The police chief does his best to lower the murder rate, while he goes up against political resistance and a dropping number of police officers. A young man wants an honest career, but needs to provide for his pregnant girlfriend. Caught between two worlds, a 12-year-old African American boy wants to become a police officer, even though it alienates him from his peers. These are a few of six intersecting stories featured in the film. It’s an exploration into how humanity develops and transforms in the face of difficult times.

Between gangs, the law, and everyone striving to be better, Give Us This Day is an inside look at America’s problems. Don’t miss this eye-opening documentary, premiering on November 8th at 10/9c on Audience Network Ch. 239.
