Four teams played in the CFB semi-finals, and in the end the Alabama Crimson Tide beat the Clemson Tigers, while the Georgia Bulldogs soundly defeated the Oklahoma Sooners. Which means that this year, the College Football National Championship will be an SEC (Southeastern Conference) showdown!

When it comes to national title games, Alabama has had a lot of experience. In fact, this will be the Crimson Tide’s third straight appearance in the national championship. Under head coach, Nick Saban, they’ve been in 5 national title games and won 4 of them.

Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, it’s been a while since their last national championship game. This will be their first appearance in a national title game since 1983, and they’ve only succeeded at winning the national title once, in 1980. However, this time around they have star running backs Sony Michel and Nick Chubb, the current best linebacker in the nation, Roquan Smith, and a QB with ice water in his veins, Jake Fromm. Not to mention, Saban’s old defensive coordinator, Kirby Smart, is Georgia’s head coach.

With everything they’ve got going for them, the Bulldogs are poised to make a legitimate run at the national title. Some are even saying that the game should be an easy win for the University of Georgia. But the truth is, UGA will be playing Alabama, and when you play Alabama, the game could be described using millions of different words—but easy, is not one of them.

Saban’s team received harsh criticism leading up to their semi-final selection, and they were even viewed as the underdog in their game against OU. In the end they were able to use the words of naysayers as fuel for their victory against the Sooners. And it seems that in this year’s national title game, Alabama hopes to prove to everyone that although they may bend, Bama doesn’t break.
