TruTV’s newest original comedy is called I’m Sorry, but creator and lead actress, Andrea Savage, is making no apologies for being hilarious.
Savage, best known for her laugh inducing roles on Step Brothers, Veep, and Sleeping with Other People, stars as Andrea, a seemingly confident comedy writer, wife, and mom, who is most likely a fictionalized version of Savage herself.
Throughout the series Andrea faces the daily challenges of home and family life, and must also control her tendency to lean in to the erratic. Whether it’s explaining childbirth to her daughter while eating at a restaurant, or making inappropriate comments at the playground, she has an uncanny ability to mismanage most situations. Which of course leads to numerous laugh-out-loud outcomes!
On most shows, the other family members are usually having all the fun. TV fathers are often shown delivering “dad jokes,” and the kids can be counted on to get themselves into a weekly misadventure. But this time around it’s mom’s turn, and although you may not have expected it, mommy’s bringing the funny!
