Susan Sarandon is continuing her streak of TV dominance with a major part in the hit SHOWTIME® series Ray Donovan, signing on as a guest star for the entire fifth season. Although she’s best known for her film work, like Thelma & Louise and Dead Man Walking, Sarandon has accepted more television roles in the last few years (that have earned her 4 Emmys nominations). Sarandon plays a powerful studio head named Samantha Winslow, so Ray Donovan, Hollywood’s best fixer, will have to clean up whatever messy, delicate situations Ms. Winslow finds herself in.
If you’re not familiar with the central theme of the show, it stars Liev Schreiber as Ray Donovan, a jack-of-all trades operating in the seedy underbelly of Los Angeles. It’s Ray’s job to get the city’s stars, moguls, and celebrity athletes out of trouble—any kind of trouble. However, his already complicated life is made more so by the presence of his father, played by Jon Voight, an ex-con who threatens to drag Ray’s ugly past back up from the muck. Ray Donovan also features performances by Eddie Marsan, Paula Malcomson, Steven Bauer, Dash Mihok, Kerris Dorsey, Katherine Moennig, Pooch Hall, and Devon Bagby.
