We’re just four episodes into ABC’s latest family sitcom Speechless, and it’s already a hit! Critics and fans alike have praised the show for it’s depiction of the DiMeo family—they’re what a nuclear family looks like in 2016. With Minnie Driver at the helm as mom Maya DiMeo, Speechless follows the family as they move mountains for their children, especially sixteen year-old J.J. who has special needs. As Driver put it in our exclusive interview, parents who have special needs kids are “badasses” and she’s delighted to welcome viewers to their world! Check out our exclusive interview with Driver and co-star John Ross Bowie, and make sure to catch up on all of the DiMeo’s adventures when Speechless airs every Wednesday at 8:30/7:30c.
