TV couples can sweep us off our feet. Whether they’re driven by an impossible love fueled by secrecy, a love defined by society, or one that is funny and carefree, we can’t get enough of their irresistible stories. Here are our favorite TV lovebirds.

Matthew and Mary
The final episode of Downton Abbey‘s Season 3 airs this Sunday, February 17, on PBS, which means we have one last chance to see Matthew (Dan Stevens) and Mary (Michelle Dockery) together this season. Mary’s initial dislike of Matthew has morphed into tender and devoted love, and they have settled their differences in dealing with the estate and legacy of the Crawley name. Will their love continue to blossom in the elegant Yorkshire estate? We’ll just have to tune in and see.

Carrie and Brody
What do you get when a CIA agent and a POW turned by the enemy fall for each other? An impossible relationship, of course! When Carrie (Claire Danes) and Brody (Damian Lewis) got together in the cabin, they became one of TV’s hottest couples. They were destructive, manipulative, and oh so right for each other. Season 3 of Homeland returns in September 2013 on SHOWTIME®.

Nick and Jess
Nick (Jake Johnson) and Jess (Zooey Deschanel) have been roommates from the time New Girl first started. There has always been an underlying attraction between these two, but because of their different personalities, they’ve always refrained from getting involved. From the look of things, they may be ready to admit they’re crazy about each other. Find out how their relationship evolves next Tuesday at 8:30 pm on FOX.

Tara and Jax
On Sons of Anarchy, Tara (Maggie Siff) and Jax (Charlie Hunnam) had a crazy relationship when they were two young members of SAMCRO. Ten years later, their paths have crossed again, their chemistry is stronger than ever, and they have finally realized that they belong together.

Marshall and Lily
In How I Met Your Mother, Marshall (Jason Segel) and Lily (Alyson Hannigan) are—wait for it—the best couple ever. They’re cute, funny, and totally in love with each other. Their friends see them as the model couple, one of those sappy couples who can make you cringe, but then again, keep your faith in love alive. Catch these two and their friends every Monday at 8 p.m. on CBS.
